Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2018 Verified Purchase I read a consumer reports article a little while ago listing this sunscreen as the best on the market for coverage and water resistance. I've used many different types and SPFs (up to SPF 100) and I think this one is the best. It's not very thick and rubs in easily and evenly. I have had it on in direct sunlight, being in and out of water, and it has saved me from sunburn even with a single application over several hours. I burn fairly easily and would say I could get a decent burn going in about 30 minutes in the summer. I regularly do obstacle course races that last 4 or 5 hours and don't get sunburns with this product. I have been using it exclusively for about 2 years now and have zero complaints. Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2020 Verified Purchase DO NOT BUY!!!!! It stains EVERYTHING that comes in contact with it. I couldn't figure out what was staining all of my babies things including our swimwear & towels. I put the swimsuit in the wash and it stained everything a rusty orange. First I thought my washer may have had some rust in it for the first time but that was absolutely not the case. It's the sunscreen! And these stains do not come out. The warning label says may stain some surfaces... it stains every single surface! Including our personalized pottery barn chair cover that I put in the wash with the suit unknowingly that the suit which had sunscreen on it would ruin the cover. I called coppertone & all they wanted to do was give me my money back for the sunscreen I purchased. Didn't care at all that their product had ruined so much of our stuff. I will never buy coppertone again and I hope this review helps you do the same. 1.0 out of 5 stars Stains EVERYTHING!!!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!! It stains EVERYTHING that comes in contact with it. Images in this review Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2019 Verified Purchase This is perfect for babies and kids with sensitive skin (or adults - I use it too!) . Has great water/sweat resistance and truly has kept a very fair skin little boy from sunburn all his life (he's 4 1/2 now). We live in Florida and he and his Dad are always outside, beach, bike riding, fishing, parks, etc. and the little guy barely has a tan line :-) His skin is so sensitive we had to buy only one brand of diapers, special wipes etc when he was a baby, but this wonderful sunscreen has never bothered him at all. Highly recommend! Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2020 Verified Purchase I bought this for my 18-month old baby who has pretty sensitive/dry skin. I know that mineral sunscreen is supposed to be best for both the environment, sensitive skin ,and babies in general, but I tried a highly rated zinc oxide sunscreen previously to this, and it was so thick and tacky that it was hard to spread and get good protection on my wiggly baby, plus it felt like I was rubbing her sensitive skin really hard to spread it which defeated the point. Oh, and like all mineral sunscreens, it left a ghostly white cast on her skin. So, I decided to give a highly rated chemical sunscreen marketed to babies a try hoping it would be easier to apply and that she would tolerate it. Overall, this is very light and easier to spread and her sensitive skin does seem to tolerate it (no irritation that I see) BUT I would not buy this again because of the very strong smell! Like, wow, enough to transport me back to every summer spent at the pool in my youth. The bottle doesn't say it has any fragrance, but the super sunscreen smell is quite overwhelming, almost like sunscreen perfume (I now see other reviews mention this and wish I had seen that before). Why oh why would a product marketed to babies need so much smell? Ironically, I bought the Coppertone Ultra Guard SPF 70 (marketed to adults) for myself at the same time I bought this, and that has NO smell at all. So yeah, the sunscreen seems to work well, but I can't see myself buying this one again. Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2018 Verified Purchase I don't know how well this product works as a sunscreen because the smell makes it unusable for me. It has been reformulated for 2018 with "fragrance" added, although no mention is made of fragrance on the front of the bottle. The odor is overpowering, like the perfume counter at the Five and Dime store, not like the typical low-key "sunscreen aroma." And it doesn't wear off with time either. What were they thinking, that you want to walk around smelling like a perfumed clothes-dryer sheet? Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2020 Verified Purchase I am that odd California girl who wants no part of sun exposure, and I insist on daily coverage year-round especially on my face & neck. Setting up Subscribe & Save for a quality sunscreen is a great option! I loved everything about the Coppertone Water Babies, including the scent, except that it leaves a very shiny residue which doesn't look great on my face. Not a good look. So I switched to the same deal on Coppertone Sport which solved the problem. Both are a significant savings over buying in the store, and shipping automatically is a great help. Recommended! Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2020 Verified Purchase No stars. this is way too watered down or tampered with. It used to be a thick formula which I loved so much because it was perfect coverage for my three little girls. This new formula is way too thin, almost like thin runny lotions. Do not buy if you are expecting same results as what you buy in person . Wipes off too easy after one water splash so need to reapply too often. My 3yr old has a sunburn now on her cheeks. I like the scent but that's about it. Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2019 Verified Purchase I much preferred the original formula, Coppertone recently updated it, removing Oxybenzone and adding other inactive ingredients. So if you liked this before, be aware it is now quite different. Reviews with images
